PORT COQUITLAM, BC - October 21, 2026…The City of Port Coquitlam is inviting families to celebrate its first-ever Children’s Week, running Monday, Nov. 16 to Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026. The week features free try-it programs for children and families, plus open houses at two City recreation centres to wrap up the celebration.
Children’s Week coincides with Universal Children’s Day on Friday, Nov. 20, when Tri-Cities mayors, or their designates, will reaffirm their commitment to the Tri-Cities Children’s Charter of Rights. The charter affirms the region’s shared commitment to the well-being, safety and healthy development of every child in the community.
“Port Coquitlam is a great place to raise a family, and our recreation programs play a big role in helping kids stay active, build friendships and discover what they love,” said Mayor Brad West. “Children’s Week is a chance for families to try something new at no cost, meet our recreation staff and see firsthand the opportunities available for children in our city. I encourage every family to come out and join the fun.”
