PROPERTY TAXES ARE ONLY PART OF THE BILL. I’ve heard the message that Port Coquitlam property taxes haven’t changed. But let’s look at the actual numbers. In 2025, the City’s average municipal property tax increase was 4.3%. In 2026, it was another 1.95%. And homeowners also saw increases in other charges, including water, sewer and solid waste. In 2026 alone, water increased 6.53% and sewer increased 8.97%. Whether a charge is called a property tax, utility levy or another fee, it still comes out of the household budget. As Mayor, I will give residents the full picture. I believe taxpayers deserve to know: What are we paying? Who is charging us? Why is it increasing? And what are we getting for our money?
